CL-227 Sentinel CL-327 Guardian
Canadairís involvement with the US Navy started in 1988. Several demonstrations of the CL-227 were conducted to show the feasibility of launching and recovering a VTOL air vehicle from the deck of a small combatant ship. In a planned build up, land-based flight tests were conducted at the contractorís site in Montreal Canada on a tether due to air space restrictions. Flights at Ft. Huachuca, AZ demonstrated the capability of a 20 km data link range. Flights were completed at Medicine Hat, Canada from a wooden deck to simulate the transition across the flight deck of a ship. A flight was accomplished aboard the Jan Tide (an oil rig replenishment ship) to a distance of 6 km from the ship. Although this was a manual flight and recovery, it continued the build up. The next at sea demo was conducted aboard the USS DOYLE (FFG-39) during a STANAVFORLANT cruise. Extensive flight testing both at the Canadair facility in Montreal and also at Patuxent River, MD preceded the cruise to demonstrate the safety of the system. Contractor personnel operated the system from a shelter inside the starboard hangar of the FFG. The final at sea demo was conducted aboard the USS VANDERGRIFT (FFG-48) and included automatic approaches to the deck using a UCARS system supplied by the Sierra Nevada Corp.
The CL-327 is an improved version of the CL-227 Sentinel VTOL UAV. The CL-327 is one of the most advanced vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) surveillance system designed for intelligence gathering today. The system's turboshaft-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operates either from land or ship and can carry a wide variety of sensors for different mission requirements. The CL-327 is designed to satisfy numerous emerging market requirements for a dependable and versatile vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV.

• Increase efforts to develop long-range
and high-endurance unmanned aerial
vehicles, not merely for reconnaissance but for strike and even air-combat missions;
• Pursue the development of large bodied
stealthy aircraft for a variety of roles, including lift, refueling, and other support missions as well as strike missions.
• Target significant new investments
toward creating capabilities for operating in space, including inexpensive launch vehicles, new satellites and transatmospheric vehicles, in preparation for a decision as to whether space warfare is sufficiently different from combat within earth’s atmosphere so as to require a separate “space service.”

About the Airships
Proxity owns over 17,000,000 shares of Cyber Defense Systems, Inc. (CYDF) and its 100% wholly owned subsidiary. Cyber recently applied for patents on its M.A.R.S.. Low Altitude (LAA), Mid Altitude (MAA) and High Altitude (HAA) airships. To increase its product line and secure a dedicated manufacturing facility CYDF acquired Techsphere Systems International, Inc. (TSI) and CYDF will continue to handle the sales and marketing of its line of spherical airships. TSI has also entered into an exclusive agreement with Sierra Nevada Corporation, (SNC) to integrate the payload systems for government clients on its line of airships. There are three basic operations that the airships could perform. The TSI SA 60M.A. is a Spherical Airship could perform advertising as well as surveillance at altitudes up to 10,000 feet. The high altitude version M.A.R.S. Modular Airborne Reconnaissance Systems, to be developed will operate at altitudes up to 65,000 feet and above. The three basic operations are:
1) Surveillance of movements 24/7 in multiple environments
2) Quickly replace obscure/destroyed technology infrastructures through wireless communication platforms
3) Command and control all ground and airborne communications
The companies airships already-developed existing platform can be used for command and control communications of Defense forces or can be custom-designed with a variety of sensor technologies.

Now, Pentagon mad scientist division Darpa is looking for companies to build the next phase of OAVs. These 112-pound drones should be able to stay in the air for two hours at a time. They should have a fully-developed collision avoidance system, so the OAVs don't bump into buildings, trees – or each other – while they're flying. And drones should be able to network together, to form an autonomous swarm of scouts, sitting in the sky.
